Wire size and roller question.

got a hobbie welder than comes with a 0.8mm and 1mm roller, is it fine to run 0.6mm in the 8mm roller. im going to try welding my cars panel, just a piece at the rear quarter, and i think 0.6mm wire will be the job?

Won't work very well, rollers will slip on the wire

ok ill just use 0.8, just a smallish patch, only failed the roadworthyness (NCT) test on that, so need to get it sorted soon. would gas be much better than gasless for this job, ive started praticing on some old panels i have, but ive only used gasless so far on this welder. done a butt weld on an old exhaust pipe to,

ive never done panels before, its someting i want to practice, so any tips welcome

gas would be better as you can see the weld pool easier, also better on thin metal compared to gasless wire.

thanks man, was strugglen abit welding that size metal, and i was thinking like you said gas would be better. going to pick up some gas tomorrow and wire, alot of prep work to be done.
