I keep drills for tapping with their matching taps and dies. Already got far too many!Use the number 8 as a tpping drill for M6 threads.

well they will say that there in business to shift gearHaving a nose through the Dormer twist drill and reamer handbook the No 80 drill is 0.0135" or 0.343mm, however it states at the bottom of the page " Gauge and letter sizes are no longer recommended British Standard drill sizes. Every effort should be made to use the alternative Metric or fractional sizes shown in our catalogue". There's no date of printing apart from Edition 476 but I'll guess '70's.
