Wire feed Problem?

Hey guys, I have a Clarke 151en I bought it new a couple of years ago, used the flux core wire with no issues. Now fast forward 2 years and I finally get around to using it some some gas(from BOC). I hooked it all up with new wire but this is where I think the problem lies the wire feed seems to pulse? It feeds the wire for 2 seconds then stops for 1 second.I don't think this is normal. I have fiddled with the tensions but nothing changes. I tried to weld But I cant get a pool going the wire just stops and bounces off the metal. Any suggestions Please

I just found a few similar threads , I will have a read of them and check my welder and report back later.

what size wire ? do you need to turn the roller round for different size wire ?

Apart from checking what Snooper says, is there any chance it's not just too much power and wire speed causing the wire to hit the workpiece and burn back into the tip. Try setting the power and wire speed down then wind up the speed until it starts to weld. There was a good video on YouTube where the guy wound it up from nothing then back down until the sound was right.

0.6mm wire. I took the roller out gave it a little clean, then put it in the correct way. Now its working Thank you Chaps!!
