Hi, I am new to this forum and my question is probably a very simple one to answer and probably covered many times already so I apologise in advance. I am borrowing a little weldmate trade mig 80 to tack together some projects for my old mini, before I take them off to a local fabrication firm to be fully welded, its easier for me to get the parts right here first rather than move the car to the place where the welds will be completed.
I have borrowed a sip weldmate trade mig 80, I have used it before for a small mot patch last year and it worked well, this time however the wire is "pulsing" out of the torch, about an inch at a time then stopping, then starting, with approx 4 seconds delay, I have tried slackening the wire right off from the wire feed unit and the unit itself spins freely and at a constant speed, but when it tries to feed wire its really struggling. I have just bought a SIP liner and some 0.6mm nozzles( I am using this thickness wire), although I am using disposable bottles I have a full bottle on the regulator, and if i flip the switch from low to high power the speed of the feed unit changes, so I assume thats all good. Is my problem possibly the liner?? and if so are they easy enough to change??? thanks in advance
