Hi all, I've got an old telwin 140 mastermig that is circa 1980 ,so not new by any means , ive had it for a good number of years and before i got it the wire drive transformer had been replaced, it then became apparent the wire drive motor had a dead spot on it and thats when i ended up with it.After enquiries about a new one came back with obsolete and unobtainable i had to make a decision, scrap or alter something to fit. I looked at possible motors and decided a windscreen wiper motor was as close as i could get and thats what i altered to fit , it worked really well but was 12v and the wire speed had to be turned right down as i realised it was 24v supplyl. Now i have fitted a 24v to 12v voltage converter to the feed into the motor but am worried that i might damage the pcb or that it just wont work so i've not tryed it ! Any info would be much appreciated
