Used Auto Gym screen cleaner with a rag still as bad.I will try your idea tonightWindow cleaner and newspaper not cloths
Do I diluteX2 vinegar/newspaper method.
with paper or a rag?For something so simple I would normally give a sarky reply... but
I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago, I am convinced it was something that had got onto the screen by a 'not normal' method, some sort of oil product, it was a nightmare and I could not get it off, even after trying several different cleaners, when it was raining the wipers smeared it to hell and vision was terrible
In the end I cleaned the wipers with cellulose thinners, the screen also with thinners then used Auto Glym glass polish, it sorted it and vision is now crystal clear.
Rags I was certain had no contamination on them, although newspaper is a well known and perhaps even better substitute as mentioned buy others.with paper or a rag?
But who's toothbrush do you use ?Toothpaste - the 25p a tube works just as well as dear stuff. I'm not joking - try it on all kinds of glass, mirrors etc![]()

Speaking of wind screens, does anyone know how to get scratches off 'em on the cheap? Mine is scratched due to gritty seagull ****...

Old school was mix "whitening" (used to whiten gym shoes for those who can remember that far back) + 25% meths. Apply to windscreen, let the meths flash off & polish off with clean cloth or paper towel. Failing that Holts used to sell a similar ready mixed product.Washed my car over the weekend and now the windscreen is smeared. Any ideas how to get the wax off?
