Hi I'm trying to make a table with a wooden base and a wooden top. But I want a metal single leg/column.
Im using e220 mild steel 25mmx25mmx3mm box section welded either end to 150mmx150mmx3mm plates. It will be about 400mm high. so basically a wooden base and top with a metal box section and brackets in a column posistion between the wood.
Its very strange dimension due to lack of space for storage in my workshop. I'm normally dealing with wood but I can mig weld. Im curious if anybody can let me know if this could take the weight of around 100kg? I've got the mild steel here and ready and would rather not go out to buy more expensive steel. would the e220 mild steel do the job?
Many thanks
