Who does engraving/laser etching?

Anyone here can do a little job for me? I have made a data plate for my lathe for cutting metric threads and I want it as a rivet-on plate so it's permanent.

Anyone interested? This is what I want done (gotta check all the combinations fit on the banjo yet but it should be right).

There is a place in Kings Lynn called Optima (steels or Stainless). They do laser engraving, might be able to help you

But... I'm just changing over the electronics on my larger machine (as in motors are off it now, ordering replacements on Monday) so lead time would be more than normal.

I only work on aluminium - that may or may not be good for you.

Cheers, I just found out that the 100 gear doesn't fit on the bottom chart so I'll have to calculate it with a smaller size.

I'm not hung up on the bold fonts if they had to go then so be it. I was rather hoping it sould be done right from the image though. I might just print and laminate it if it's a lot of hassle.

Pete, what I've done previously is to reverse the image, and engrave it on the back of a clear plastic that I've painted the background colour that I want. Then I paint the engraving in a contrasting colour.

I'm on my iPad so not easy to upload a picture, but I'll attach one later in the day.

All sorted now. I remembered that some years ago someone put me on to a printable film that is self-adhesive and resistant to oils and chemicals. I bought some at the time and forgot about it until today.

So now I have a gearing chart which was easily printed on oil-resistant sticky-backed silver foil. I've printed two - one for outside the cover and another for the inside.

@Pete. Only problem they're for B/W laser printer(s). I will probably need to print a motor/gear speed table for my 'new' Myford when it arrives and had high hopes having read your post. Sadly, I only have an inkjet printer.......

Buy some paper and send me it with your files and I'll happily print it for you. Colour laser.

Or try a local copy shop, they're usually quite happy to help.

Well I bought a pack of 20 sheets in 2010 and I have only used 2 plus given some away, so if you want a gear chart printed send me the file and I'll post it to you.

Very kind, gents . I'll keep the offer(s) in mind once the lathe comes and I get sorted on the label content. It'll prob be based on this (courtesy of @Turbo whose brain I'll probably be looking to pick in due course ) I'm not sure if mine has the dual-speed motor, so requirements might be different eventually.
