Due to short time i am looking at doing a few jobs at home for a couple of existing customers, 1st job is basically making 6mm mild steel pans, the other is 3mm mild steel water tanks, quite a bit of welding on both jobs so i need advice on what sort of power i should be looking at in a mig welder that will run ok on 240v. Also would 0.8 wire be ok for for the heavier job?

but one of your main considerations...very often overlooked... is gas costs. With any amount of work to do forget any of the smaller machines that run on disposable gas canisters & go straight for a model that will run on refillable gas cylinder; more initial outlay, but cheaper in the long run.
