Which VFD please

Leading on from my 'My VFD has died' thread.

I now have the refund in my account from Amazon, and I need to buy another VFD, or change tack completely.
It MUST be bought from Amazon (As the refund came in Gift Card form)

Does anyone know please if all of the cheap XSY-AT1 inverters are all the same, or do some actually have better reliability than others?
I'm driving a 750w motor - so my thinking was 2.2Kw should be plenty.

Beyond that, I'm shopping on price and delivery schedule, getting whatever I can for my £80...

Any thoughts?

Get a decent one, then you won’t need to over-rate it so much. Buy something else with your Amazon gift card.

I've got 3 xsy-at1 2.2kw running 1.5kw motors. No probs yet. Oldest one is 3 years old. Not hammered every day though.

That’s very possible. It’s helpful to read of good experience as well as all the bad ones

WEG here on my 626 mill running a 1.5kw motor…and Invertek on my lathe (WM290 lookalike) running a 1.5kw motor..

I’ve got two Huanyang vfd’s, neither are over-rated, and both have been fine, one for six years, the other for four.

Had a hangyang vfd, 2.2kw…unit. Gave it away to a very good friend of mine for his mill…still working afaik, some 7 yrs later…

XSY-AT1 - I bought one as a spare in case the HY blew up, (it was a really cheap Amazon deal) works fine, I have had to strenghten the plastic casing during use as it cracked and it's now sitting in the spares box. Personally I think it blew when you powered it up without the motor fitted.

In my defence, that didn't improve things, however the only reason that was tried was because it had already failed, wouldn't reset, and I was at the 'try anything' stage..
But no, I wouldn't try it again.

Yes I agree - and in the past they've done exactly that. Maybe this time it was due to the 5 months since purchasing but that wasn't offered ? It doesn't generally matter as I will spend it with them over a period of months or years.
