Which tap and die set from Tracy Tools

Looking to get a full tap and die set but unsure whether to get metric coarse, metric fine, what are UNC, UNF ?

Do I need to get HSS ones ?

HSS are the best.

Depends what you want to use it for of course.

UNC and UNF are imperial - old British sizes. You also have BA and whitworth.

Get a metric set to start unless you are into model engineering or restoring old British machines.

majority of stuff u do carbon steel set will be fine unless your doing a lot of stainless or fairly hard steel as to what set it depends on what u are going to be doing, i have a hss metric set as if i make anything all my nuts and bolts are metric anything other repairs ect carbon steel . whitworth. bsp unf .bsf and ba thread in sets . anything obscure buy individualy tracy tool gear is good stuff and reasonably priced
