Which spot welder and plasma?

Hi folks, I know I hardly post on here but I do browse most days!

Im after a plasma cutter and a spot welder to help make life easier with my mini restoration. Ill only ever use either of them for mini related stuff so they dont have to be capable of great things.

As with most people im not looking to spend the earth on them but do intent on keeping them for a long time for future restorations but please don't tell the wife to be about them! One cars enough apparently!

So any recommendations will be greatly received.

If you're looking long term, a Hypertherm plasma is the one to go for, you can be sure of spares/consumables being available unlike some of the far east cheapies.

I say long term but not that kind of long term, especially not with a wedding to pay for.

Neither the plasma or spot welder will be used very hard as my shift pattern depicts when I get to play in the garage and it isn't very often, so i'd like to think a cheaper-ish one may last longer with the lack of use it'll get.

I DID have a clarke one from ebay. The seller accepted my offer and proceeded to sort out delivery details with me but didn't end the auction right away.

So someone else offered him more money and he takes that instead but tells me his wife accepted the other offer without consulting him, blah blah blah.

So yeah, I now need a plasma cutter again. Really get fed up with people on ebay sometimes.

I guess i'm just too honest as I wouldn't do that to someone.
