Which snips??

Before i start the post can i just say how friendly and helpful this forum is. So often forums are ruined by trolls and big egos. It's appreciated
I have a pair of Dewalt snips, just the straight ones, i know I'll probably need the handed ones too, but my grip is not as good as it used to be and i wondered if any makes were easier on the tennis elbow! Just cutting car body thicknesses. Thank you.

Do you wear a support for your tennis elbow? If you do, the trick is to fold up a couple of sheets of kitchen roll into a small block. Wriggle your fingers, see where the tendons are at the elbow. Place the block of tissue on the tendons then tighten the support, holding the tissue in place. The extra pressure immobilises the tendons and they can recover.

I'd use a cutting disc in an angle grinder. Not one handed though, guess how I got tennis elbow.

Sports phsyos seem to be good for tennis elbow.
Ask around a local rugby/football club and they will probably suggest someone.

The Stanley fatmax shears are pretty good, they have decent leverage so don't need much pressure.
They also have ergonomic grips so they don't twist which would be good for the elbow

I have serious arthritis in my shoulder joints....as for snips I have several pairs of Gilbows.....
they have never been sharpened in the 30 plus years of owning them and they have at times had a hard life....
Maybe the type with a kinda geared / lever head known as aircraft snips are what u want....
I have tried them and been very disapointed...even expensive ones....
when I die I'm taking all my Gilbows.....lol.....

Thanks guys helpful as ever, never heard the tennis elbow trick, that's a doozy, i often have it.
I remember Gilbows from college, a long, long time ago, green as I remember I'll see if they're out there.

I like my Milwaukee ones. But IMHO wrong tool if you have grip problems/ tennis elbow. I would be looking for a powered nibbler or powered sheers, if your budget can reach.

Not recommendations, I don't own any yet. Both come in a variety of powered options, air, corded or cordless

I use the Stanley Fatmax ones as well, for stuff I want or need to cut by hand. I have three - left, right and centre, and the centre gets almost no use. Keep in mind that you don't want to be cutting much off with tin-snips, no more than about 1/4", or you'll need to put much more effort in. I found this informative last time I watched it:

I've also recently bought a mains-powered nibbler from Lidl, which has been great though I've only used it once. I've got a drill-mounted one, but have to use two hands for that.

I have , shears , a nibbler , a heavy duty nibbler , a hand shear throat less , recip saw , cut off saw , mini cut off saw , saber saw thingy , air hacksaw ,geared air hacksaw , and two plasma cutters . and a multi tool/

I still just use a grinder most of the time .

I hate having to use a grinder, because of all the sparks and stuff that flies off it, and the nasty rough edge it leaves behind. I have considered a plasma cutter, but got away without one so far. That said, the little crescent sections that the nibbler throws out get everywhere, and are very hot. There's nothing quite like one of those dropping into your shoe while cutting to ruin the day.
