Balderdash!
My mowers get fed with whatever petrol is cheapest, just like my cars. I live in the UK, so fuel quality is tightly controlled.
Don't take this advice in the USA or outside the OECD.
I tend to add only enough fuel to complete the task at hand, so I run the tank dry every session and definitely at the end of the mowing season.
But hey, what do I know?
If you are that hung up about alcohol, just buy 25 litres or so of fuel at a time and separate out the alcohol.
There are only four refineries left in the UK - so the choice of is limited to where it is refined...
