Hi there . Newbe hear . I am looking at buying a new mig welder . I can spend around £500 . I have been looking around for a while . I like the look of the sip T194 inverter welder . Has anyone got any experience using this welder . I also like the esab 160 caddy . I will mostly welding cars , but for a long time .Poss all day .

Welcome to the forum, I am a bit 'old school' and if you don't have a requirement with moving the machine around I would prefer a transformer type like the Portamig, thats just my personal preference of course and I am not suggesting they are superior.
I just believe they are more capable over time of surviving knocks, abuse and the dirt of a bodyshop, also offering an easier chance of repair in the coming years if required.

I bought a Walf also, except mine was called Wolf 
and I agree, it was a nightmare to use.
If portability is required then a Portamig is not ideal, even though it's name suggests so, great for wheeling around the garage but can cause serious injury to delicate parts if attempting to lift into a van.

According to the Esab specs
•Duty Cycle @ 100%: 100 Amps
So..on paper it should cope with running 'all day' at it's bottom settings for car work.

Which Welder do I buy
I have been looking at getting a new welder . I have look at a few. I like the sip t194 which has a euro touch , esab caddy mig c200 , or possible a kempi . The last 2 listed don't have euro touch. I will be welding mostly cars , have lots to do on my vw resto. Can anyone recommend anything else . Which one would others buy ..
