I need to turn a bushing to press fit into the pulley off of my SIP bandsaw. The pulley had worn on the shaft and key so I turned the shaft down to 24mm and cut a me key slot and bored the pulley out to 35mm.
I plan to press fit the bush in the pulley and then cut a new keyway in the bush to pickup the key on the shaft.
Question is, what material would be best for the bush? I have brass, mild steel and silver steel available or would I be better off with some cast iron?
