is there a name or code for a replacement led for a floodlight, needs to be 110mm length overall, this one won’t fit as it’s too fat so the contact end spigots won’t reach ,the bulbous part stops it,if the ends were longer it would. Thanks.
Would be interested to know if there is any numbers or codes for them?
I have seen plenty that say they are a replacement for XXX type of bulb but its pot luck what the ends are like and if they fit or not.
Some of the flood light bulbs have a heatsink and wont point in the right direction as the weight of the heatsink tend to rotate them around in the contacts.
As said above, I would just replace the whole light with the surface mounted type leds anyway. Better light output from them as well. The bulb replacements dont often work very well with the reflector.
The very big flood lights say 18" across....that nobody wants on car boots....
I just bin all the Halogen fittings and use a ceramic mini / maxi screw fitting and then the normal LED bulbs....
plenty of light and easy to replace.....
Thanks all,any brands to recommend,I’m reluctant to replace as I feel nothing current will last like the original which is just costly to run.its 33+ years old,and still excellent.
