Which Inverter Arc Welder

Hi Folks

I'm after upgrading my arc welder (£35 ALDI special) to a nice shiny inverter ARC welder, with Basic TIG options.

It will be for occasional use, so I'm not after a top of the line one, but I would rather spend a bit extra to get something that will last.

I have been looking at the Parweld XTi 160, TEC-ARC 165i or the TEC-ARC 166i

Im leaning towards a TEC-ARC set but im not sure what the difference is between the 165 and 166, the only thing I could see was a better duty cycle on the 166. Is the 166 worth the extra £50?

Any views or help would be appreciated

I recall someone saying that the Tec Arc165 had short (1.5metre) leads, which might be a pain and added expense to buy more if you don't get on with them.

Worth checking.

I think it's also got a shorter warranty.

Thanks for that just had another look. It seems like the 166 is worth the extra pennies then, £50 more for an extra years warranty, twice the length of cables and a better rod holder.

Anyone have any views on the Parweld
