Lincoln is good kit, very good back up service in the UK.

Butters buy a lot of equipment and have there put there name on, good thing by that is that they are usually very competitivley priced as they dont have any manufacturing overheads etc, downside could be the availabilty of spare parts in the future, but a lot of people have a lot of positve feedback about Butters on this site, based on first hand experience.

Only major fly in the ointment is that they are not trading anymore......there maybe an offshoot company in the next few weeks though, I belive one of the guys also posts on here, so he would be able to offer the best advice for that

Inverter Fusion units might also be worth a look at, I know they do an AC/DC unit 210amps i believe. My experience of there DC 200amp unit is excellent. I would be interest to see what the equivalent Lorch unit compares to my IFL unit, probaly not much different, but having said that the unit is 3 yrs old and technology in Inverters will have leap forward a fair bit i would imagine.

Only 200 amp output on AC/DC even though data plate specifies 220 Also, fan is running flat as soon as you switch it on, weather your welding or not......also turn the potentiometer, quite fast and the digital display starts adjusting the current in the opposite direction

On the basic model, no AC Balance or AC Freq adjust.

I would be more than happy to do a demo against any of the names you have mentioned and I know you would choose my product in the end........because on any of the names you have mentioned the T series has advantages over all in one way or another

It looks to have all of the features you'd want from a AC/DC tig.

I have a thermal arc mig,so i do like the make ,but i would be very tempted to test side by side with the invertor fusion limited as i ,like Darren, have been very impressed with their 200phf dc unit,i witnessed one being used daily for 2years by maintenance and contractors and never let us down ,great duty cycle too.....worth a look

And very good they are too!!
I saw a shot of Darren's welder on here somewhere once - looked like it had been immersed in crude oil or something - yet still works.
Don't want to go on & on, but they are excellent units.
I would ask WeldEquip (on this forum), if you want to know more - or Darren, if you want to know how much abuse they can take! (no offence, Darren!) Until that moment, I'd thought of inverters as "semi-delicate"
