Hi;
This subject has probably been done to death but here goes.
I have bought a 3M 7500 Half Face Respirator with ABEK1 Fume Filter and a P3 Particulate Filter for spraying. And now have another one spare.
I am restoring a classic mini so most welding is steel body panels etc, angle iron jigs (Pig iron I think its called steel dipped in oil when heated? I may be doing a small amount of stainless steel as I have some 1mm stainless and will be using it to make some home made body panel pins.
For welding I was originally using the ones sold by Weldequip here and then switched to a 3M 4255 (FFA2P3) Partial Re-Usable Respirator but its time to dispose of it as its only supposed to be used for a month.
I have another 7500 with some 6051 A1 (Which is an organic vapour filter) and 6057 ABE1 (which is an organic / inorganic / acid vapour filter). I also have som P3 Particulate filters for the 7500.
I would like to use the 7500 for welding however however what filters combination should I use?
The only downside with the 7500 is that I have to lift the bottom of my welding helmet when closing it but once down its comfortable?
Looking at the 3M web site they recommend the 9925 or the 9928 for welding so using the 7500 may be overkill but I have it and would like to use it if at all possible?
Should I pursue with the 7500 or switch to the 9925 or 9928?
Thoughts?
