if I put a carrier bag on the end it saves pulling each little bit off. just turn bag inside out and you have all the bits in a bag !
Dunno man, I've got a rather bushy beard...I've used a magnet numerous time to find things I've dropped on my loose soil / hardcore drive. The magnetic bowls for small parts, old speakers etc all work.
Mate & I were working on his car (carb) many years ago when a part "pinged" off. We searched everywhere for it and in the end had to visit the local scrapyard for a replacement. That night mate was having a shower and when washing his hair the part fell out ! It had been there for around 1/2 day
Now I'm not saying that you might have a socket caught up in your hair but rather that it might be in the least likely place you'd think.
Thanks for looking Andy really appreciate it. Unfortunately has to be a Britool as that's what I borrowed.I've got a 5/8 ISS 6 point socket, it is blacked. But no Brittool
Splendid idea about the bag. I shall see what magnets I can scrounge and go over the driveway when I get home.I have a magnet 'sweeper' 400mm wide magnet on a broom stale, that has helped me several times, after stripping a pull start that fell apart in a hay bay (it was like looking for balls in a haybay) but I found every ball, bit, clip etc with a little magnet so I bought the sweeper, if I put a carrier bag on the end it saves pulling each little bit off. just turn bag inside out and you have all the bits in a bag !
good job its a she dog then, socket could be used on some other nuts
I wonder if a socket was used on these nuts -
