Hi, I just found this forum whilst trying to identify the gas valve on my MIG.
The MIG is an old Migatronic 180 which has served me well for a lot of years, but the solenoid on the gas valve packed in a couple of hours ago. At least that's what I'm assuming as the gas flow wouldn't stop, and there was smoke coming from the solenoid - always a telltale that something is amiss.
The set had been fitted with an aftermarket valve before I bought the welder, second hand. I've been in touch with the previous owner and identified the valve as a C.E.M.E. 5537, which is 24V AC, with 1/8 bsp fittings. Unfortunately, the supplier he bought the valve from is no longer in business.
Could anyone tell me where I might obtain one, or an equivalent, and a rough idea of price?
I am in West Yorkshire in the Wakefield area, just in case anyone knows anywhere local.
Thanks!
