Was using its stoped
yes power to boardBasics. Check from mains plug pins to wires into machine. Where the cable clamping is looks a bit harsh !
Is it variable speed ?
was warm but no smoke or smellsStopped how?
Cut out suddenly or made a big grinding noise then let the magic smoke out?
Assuming you’ve checked the fuse I would put a meter on the cable to rule out a broken wire then look into it further.
im expecting that but if it just provides 240 to the brushes can i just put solder a cable to the brushes and put in an in line switch its a tool thats rare used and only ever used for a clean up of tile cement floor tile adhisive etcmine knacked up it was a combined speed control and on and off switch its a chuck it in the bin job if it isnt the mains lead bust or carbon brushes worn
no but to be fair im not even sure i can get near the board plastic cover over the big stuff paint over the other sideAny components on the board which look like they might have let the smoke out?
yes power to board
I got given a Henry that didn't work and I measured power to the switch terminals. The cable cores often break at the clamps. I'd cut 2" off and reterminate it. Do the plug end as well.
Brushed motors will run on ac and DC normallyI'm assuming this convirts to dc so 240 to the brushes is out View attachment 322229
and what would happen id was dc and then changed to acBrushed motors will run on ac and DC normally
dont think i can just unplug it soldering in to the boardunplug the windings and check resistance through them
