Where can I get a cheap set of hardness testing files?

Trying to find a set of these but the cheapest I can see is £60 from Cromwell tools. Others are £100+!
Surely there's some Chinese ones knocking about for cheap?

Failing that, can anyone recommend a cost effective way of checking hardness of a material?

they wont be got cheaper from what i seen.
ive tried a few portable hardness testers on the bay but even tho they were enough money at the punt they didnt work and couldnt be repaired.
so the files are about the cheapest option bar hitting it with a hammer to see if ya mark it.
