Where best to mount a Magnaclean?

House is totally empty so I actually have some room to work
Rads are off and are filthy inside, so thinking as I have a Magnaclean I should maybe fit it!
Pics are of airing cupboard and the garage, I am thinking filter in the garage close to the celling well away from harm, airing cupboard looks like it will be a fiddly sod.
Boiler is an old but very reliable Potterton Netaheat, circa 1987.

It needs its own height of free space above it to remove the innards for cleaning, so not too close to the roof.

Read the instructions for location (manufacturer's preferred option is in return line close to boiler - i.e. after any tee-offs for radiators)

If you put in a drop on the return don’t forget to make sure the resulting high point can be vented.

In your situation I'd put it after the pump and before the valve, and chop that pointless airject out (small copper cylinder) it will be blocked and if it isn't it will be soon.

Strange you should mention that as I was just looking at that and cylinder and it has a lot of hammer marks on it!

just one thing what might appear black water may actually be an inhibitor already in the system

there is a colour difference and dirt differences when you take a rad off the wall and drain and clean it

one thing i dont see

if your going to drain it fit yourself 2 drain taps onto the system nothing worse than draining a system and some bone idle plumber hasnt fitted any drain valves on there system and more so near that boiler

alot of idiot plumbers like draining a system through the prv valve oh yeah of coarse they do as well as charge you for that expensive part as well all not to fit a drain valve that costs 5.00 instead of 40.00+

Not got any further yet as been fitting lights/switches etc, all the stuff to keep the missus happy.
Did open the drain on the boiler, and nowt came out so gave a it a rodding with a long thin screwdriver, all I can say is its just as well the boiler is in the garage!

Stayed there with my 5 gallon bucket in a futile attemp to catch flying water, caught 2 gallons, same amount ended up on the floor and over me.
