I never use SUS bits as I have a decent hammer-drill (BOSCH) and have always got on fine with it for masonry
However it packed in the other night (brushes probably) and I've borrowed an SDS type at short notice.
In the box of bits I have there are some with 2 slots to engage with chuck and some with only one. The one-slot ones don't fit the drill.
Anyone know what the one-slot ones are called and if they are obsolete or not?
Also, looking at the markings on the bits, you can see the symbols differ: There is a straight line and a curved one for the one-slot type and two curved on the other.
Lastly why is 66 stamped on one and 84 on the other (next to the symbol for the shank-shape)?
'SDS' bits differ. LHS has 2 slots and RHS has 1 (larger) slot
symbol shows both sides same on this. what does 66 indicate? (7mm bit)
symbol shows sides differ. 84 on 10mm bit?
