When is a 48" Stilson only 44" ?

Well I had to use a 10 foot scaffold pole to torque up the four 1" UNC bolts that retain each of the 'slew pots' on my JCB3CX with an 1-1/2" socket. They need to be done up to 980 Newton Metres which is blooming tight ! (But then the slew pots each push the rack back and forth with 14 tons of force)

I used a full length one, (13 ft I think) to crack a rear hub nut on a Ford fiesta once..
it was the last resort otherwise it'd have been the gas Axe

I had to use a lorry wheel brace, a 10 foot scaff pole, and an obese female friend to crack the wheel nuts on my 60 year old truck 25 years ago, but that's another story....

She was worth her weight in...... Torque.
