When do you do your best work?

This is the ideal , it's what we need , sadly this does not happen very often ... but when it does... creativity blooms and we all work well ...and life rocks ....

Far more productive in the morning, I can get up before 7, coffee, short bike ride, breakfast, second coffee and go though hours worth of lecture notes before I see anyone else in the house (Though given when my housemates get up, that's not that impressive ).

I was thinking about this yesterday as I was posting up my exhaust repair thread. I wondered if anyone noticed that I tend to post stuff like that late in the evening. That's because on a weekend it's common for me to do very little in the morning, potter about in the afternoon but then get stuck in late afternoon/early evening or even late evening. I think it is because I work full time so on a weekday I won't do anything on a weekday until after the evening meal.

Sometimes my wife says to me that if I got more done in the daytime I'd be able to chill out in the evening, but I don't think that's true, all it will mean is that I'm more tired from working all day AND all evening.

So, for me it's evening time. What about you?

100% with you on that, I have spent 8 weeks of lockdown 'improving' my workshop just in case I have to start back in there full time. I really could have done with another 4-6 weeks as it's still a mess but I see a light way off in the distance.

I know exactly how you Feel...lots of work and it look like ihave done nothing. The truth is I have not stopped for 3 months other than to sleep.

For me the day job depends so much on the weather, early part of the week was normal 8am starts and working until 11-midnight, second part was early start at 4am, work until 20-21 degrees then stop for it to cool down. The weekends work wasn't weather dependent so just when ever suited. Hobby work is never dependent on the time more my mood, some days can't be bothered to do much and others seem to get through 3 days work in one.

Probably a bit later on for me , Evening type work then depending on how much work i have to do just crack on until tired really. Love a good project i can just dive into with plenty to get done

Early afternoon till late evening has always been best for me, apart from when i was young and then my best work was at night in bed as i was a dreamer.
