Change from being Zinc rish to Copper rich?

Last tin I bought, 4 years hence, was zinc rich, this is Upol Weld #2 BTW.
Just bought a new tin, this is still Weld #2, now says it's copper rich. It's certainly copper coloured!

Actually looking at that link, it seems to be available in both. What's the difference? (Besides one has Zinc and the other has Copper!)

My experience with weld thru primer is in ship building so it may be different. The zinc based worked providing there was enough on the plate. The problem with that is the thicker the paint the less weld thru it becomes.
I often thought (and asked the paint people) why they couldnt use Nickel. I didnt mention Copper because it can be absorbed into the weld metal and cause cracking but its highly unlikely. You just have to be safe.
I would expect the Copper base to be better for welding in that copper wont volatalise like zinc. It will be interesting to hear actual experiences.

Based on my actual experience of welding up rusty Range Rovers, the Copper stuff works better than the Zinc, in terms of welding at any rate. Less fizzing and spattering.
How it performs as a primer vs the Zinc, I do not know.

I found it the other way around actually and the zinc one`s cheaper, the last copper one I used was from wayside adhesives theirs seemed to have a lot more copper in theirs as opposed to the u-pol one.
