wheelie bins and bank acounts

A friend had his bin stolen from his home, it was full.
A couple of weeks later his bank account was cleaned out....

Nightmare......burn or shred all documents/ envelopes etc before putting in the bin. The worst thing is the stuff from banks wanting you to take out this or that and they have already filled in some of your info on the application forms they send you.

I always burn everything with any personal details on it. Even shredding isn't 100% safe.

No dug into a compost heap, but a small amount should be ok in a wormery.

I took quite a bit of shredded paper to the council re-cycling depot yesterday and so had a lot of others, but bank stuff, burn it.
I seem to remember that you could buy some simple press where you made logs out of wet paper but suppose that was too much trouble though or it would have caught on.

I tried making paper logs and it's too much hassle. They only work properly with newspaper, you still need to shred it and they take a long time to dry out.

I donated some shredded paper to an animal charity, but when offerred another lot they wouldn't take it, they wanted cross-cut shredded rather than long bits. Apparently the shop assistant spent a whole afternoon cutting up my shredded paper with scissors!

A friend of ours takes all our shredded paper for rabbit bedding, even CSI would struggle after that!
