Is ali treadplate a good idea? Just thinking wet/horrible weather especially for foot soldiers, ply with that grit glued on top of it might be an option, will only need bolting to the runners on the underside. Just thoughts.

I've always found 5 bar tread plate to be ok...that said, father in laws or whoever is pushing will be able to walk between. I did have the foresight to thing of grip tape for the box section runners though just in case

When I moved into my bungalow there was a wheelchair ramp in the garage as as the previous owner was in a wheelchair his whole adult life. The threshold to the front door from the drive was built as high as possible, so it’s only a 2” rise to get over the door jamb.

The ramp sat in the garage for ages but got binned one day on a clear out.
