whats your tips for body lines once in primer

thought id got it close enough , but once in primer im seeing a body line is too rounded where my repair is

any tips /thoughts ...guess i can sand up to a tape line to try and sharpen it ?

When you say to rounded do you mean high?

What type of joint was it?

a swage line in body filler ...as seen on the car in my profile pic 6 inches under the windows , original body line is sharper than mine , more you sand the flatter it gets

Putting plenty of high build on before you us tape to mark the line and sand might help.

My body lines tend to end up too sharp after sanding filler rather than not sharp enough.

We both know it's not easy Steve. Working each side of a tape line with a long block is my best advice but i know you probably do. I find a good build of polyester spray filler is good as you're bouncing the block off one surface as opposed to some metal, some filler and some paint which affects the shaping. You know you'll never get it perfect but we try.

I use vinyl tape and block up to it as its tougher than normal masking tape.

Plenty of high build helps get the swages sharp.
