What's This Frame For?

This frame was attached to the end of a steel bench I bought. There are 2 parallel bars, each with 2 threaded rods & knurled lock nuts. Each bar is mounted on a pair of springs. Any idea what it's for?

I'm thinking it was a mount for a bench grinder, the springs stopping the vibrations travelling to the bench.

That or some kind of pump that they wanted to isolate the vibrations from.

looks like an Old Royal Navy Vibration mount/ shock absorber.

Thee RN mounts a lot of equipment on various on shock mounts.
It may have bean re-purposed.
