What's the best adhesive for polystyrene

A couple of polystyrene ceiling tiles have fallen down at my Mum's house. I tried to stick them back up with PVA glue, but it didn't set quick enough and I gave up. Anybody know of something cheap I could use (I don't want to spend a lot as it's only 2 tiles). I thought about using clear silicone sealant, but was worried it would melt the polystyrene. I've got something like no more nails, but I'm guessing that would not set quick enough either.

A PU spray adhesive would likely stick well.

Contact/rubber adhesive would also do it but test it doesnt eat the popystyrene as it has some solvent. Let the solvent flash off before pushing it home.

pva glue and a few staples or a drawing pin or two ,,, dont gloss over them , that was the big no no in the day ,,, there was even a tv advert about it .

just use coving adhesive

Take them all off. I thought they were a fire hazard?

they gained the classification of fire retarded like the closed cell insulation so can still be sold as tiles or coving

this video is a cold room eps fire when the metal drops and the ceiling starts droping fire bits is like the polystyrene

too many families have died in my area through those tiles as the fire brigade cannot get into the building for dripping plastic on there suits

id advise take down and remove them

Thanks for your answers. I did think about non solvent grab adhesive from Screwfix. Not used it before, but might be an option.

I moved into a place that had these on the bathroom ceiling and they had been up for 30+ years.
They were fine for a couple more years then 2 tiles fell on a hot summer day. A few more came loose after that so I ripped them all off and plastered the ceiling.

Be prepared for this to be that start of an on-going job. Be lucky !
