Whatever has happened to Radio Four FM?

I'll have to try the long wave just out of curiosity. I have an old tv/radio/cassette thing with a 4" black and white screen which has brilliant radio reception on all FM stations.

Tried it earlier, not a sausage !

They have done the same with Absolute Radio, no longer on FM only DAB and online, the FM frequency now hosts Greatest Hits radio which is not bad but not nearly as good as Absolute. Damned annoying given that my van doesn't have DAB.

Still available on the good old fashioned medium waves. One of the few stations left I can tolerate on radio now.

I remember back in the 90's before they were taken over by the GWR group (later to become Classic Gold and then Gold), we always used to have WGMS on while working - the somewhat ostentatiously titled World Greatest Music Station.

Was bloody brilliant, lots of stuff you would never hear anywhere else and some DJ's that probably wouldn't be allowed on air these days.
IIRC One or two were ex Caroline and I think a few went on to Gold for a while. Still listened to it after it became Classic Gold, but it really was never the same.
