What Welding Wire

Hi;

Been away for a long while and need to change the welding wire on my Clarke 160EN as its looking patchy.

I am not home yet and would like to order the consumables ASAP, before I order can someone help. I have been trying to remember / find out what size (diameter) the spool is that the wire reel sits on? And what wire this machine uses?

Can I use 0.7Kg and 5Kg 0.6mm Mild Steel Copper Coated wire in this machine?
Does it matter what brand of wire?

If it helps Ill be welding Mini Body Panels on an old Austin Mini 'Y' Reg.

The machine takes 0.7 and 5kg spools so you have a choice. The good brands feed well from the spool. Try the supplier at the top of this page. The price he sells looks cheaper than WWO. Order a few tips and shrouds at the same time. I found Weldequip provides a fast service. 0.6 wire is good for body panels.
