what welder and generator

Hi ther I am a time served commercial bodybuilder and
I am looking for a portable welder to weld up to
6mm mostly be welding 3mm with a non live torch cud u reccomend a
Welder and a generator to run it will also need extra power from generator
To power angle grinder drill etc etc lookin for price range
Of 300 350 pound which model wud u reccomend to be best
All help greatly appreciated

Good luck with that!
You may be better off buying a genset, that will enable you to weld using the MMA (stick) process though the electrode will be live all the time.

If you're after a mig then you're looking at a welder of about 200 amps and a dirty great genny to run it. Double your budget and add a bit more and you're part way there if you want to buy new.

you would be lucky to get a 5kva genny for that budget and a 5kva is not man enough for the job.
also some welders are not genny friendly
i agree with woz a genset is the way to go most have power for tools aswell

What sort of welder do you want?
As has been said, you'll be struggling to get all that for £350

A genny welder will do you stick welding, at least that way you only need to buy one unit.
If you want Mig, your going to need a big genny, and a normal (generator safe) mig welder, or a 'Mig maker' which plugs into the welding leads from a genset.

None of which are cheap....

Mig maker box, £700+

Genny safe Mig, £800+
7-8KVA Genny, £1000+
