What weld?

I need to weld a piece of 20mm tube (wall thickness 1.5mm) to a metal disc that is around 0.8mm thick….The tube passes thru the disc which has a hole to accept the tube…so the fillet is around the tube/disc junction….

The other end of the tube has a flange plate that needs welding to it, the plate is 5mm thick, with the tube passing thru a hole in the flange…..

If that all makes sense…?



What weld fillet would be best? Tig/Mig/mma?

Oops, yeah it’s all mild steel….I should have stated….

Mig, would be easiest, bisch, bosch, bang.

If your kit goes low enough.

Failing that tig.

Thanks, sadly I don’t have Mig, ( sold my Mig set to fund the Tig inverter setup…) but do have Tig…..but…I’m a bit lacking in the skills dept. at the moment….so need to practice I guess….
