Hi,
Apart from a few hours in college years ago I have zero welding experience. Although at the time my tutor did want me to do extra welding course as I had some sort of talent appraently, being a moody teenager I wasn't interested.
Fast forward a few years here I am with the bug for it and wanting to get started but i'm not sure what type of welding i should get into & what my budget can afford.
I'm very serious about becoming a half decent welder and ulitmately making a small income from my work...but small steps first. i'm under no illuisions.
After x amount of months i like the idea of building my own power rack for weight lifting and a nice outdoor table and bbq. This is my goal. Can I do this with stick welding? I live in quite a rural area and lots of building works, i like the ideal of repairing jcb buckets etc but i like the idea of doing lots of things it westher i have the skills and will power to learn.
Criteria for Welder:
1. Best value/features for money
2. £400 all in, is my budget. New or used if i'm getting a good deal. (baby on the way)
3. I dont want to out grow the machine too quickly
4. must run off 230v at home. (renting currently)
5. Versatile machine, different thickness and metals
It probably sounds like i'm looking for the world on a beer budget....and i am! but in all seriousness i am reslistic and just want a decent mschine to grow with.
I'll be back with lots of qiestions i'm sure but thanks for any help for now
