What sort of plug is the switch plug on a Lidl plasma cutter.
I would like to be able to fit a separate switch without chopping into the existing cable.

I never even thought to just search for Plasma cutter connector
I just assumed it would be listed as a specific type.

Now to see if I can find one in the UK ...

This series of connectors is widely used in radio equipment for power (2 pole) and microphone connections (more poles) so any amateur radio supplier should be able to help. Maplin is still around for mail order. Note some TIG units use XLR connectors for the switch and foot peddle I’ve seen them sold for more than £20 for welders, you can get the best quality Neutrik ones from studio suppliers for about £3 they’re used a lot in pro audio kit.

Yep, and the obscure ones are a fortune from TIG manufacturers (if they even support your country...) - I made a neat little plate and converted my Daihen OTC to XLRs for about a tenner (for plugs AND sockets), the originals (I had none...) were only available through RS as "military circular" connectors with pricetags to match... An advantage is XLRs latch with a release button and don't have separate threaded collars to crossthread, and can be in or out in a second instead of spinning the ring for a minute with your wrist bent through 180 degrees!
