tried polishing mandrel but got nothing.

Can you offset the tailstock on your lathe? Doubleboost make some videos making one, he did it between centrers with an offset tailstock so he could thread it without the need for a hydraulic copier or a taper turning attachment.

i can offset tailstock but not getting very good finish on std threads.
so need to do some more playing.

If you order one remember that they are left and right handed depending on which side of the grinder its mounted on.
