What steel for small foundations?

Need to pour some fairly insubstantial foundations for a sectional garage.
Would like to put in steel, as they won't all be done in one go, and I'd like to tie it all together.

Job will be approx 9" wide by 15" deep.

What size steel would be appropriate for this?

just normal rebar will be fine to use if your extending foundations later grease the ends up so they dont rust till you get back to them

put them through an 1" wood so you can concrete right up to the seperating board

I ran out of mix when doing my garage founds so just threw a few scrap lengths of scrap round, square and angle in, did the job fine.

Im kind of aware it comes in different thicknesses - whats "normal"?

Or just go down to my depot, and buy whatever is cheapest? I mean its a tiny job compared to many!

Ok, the job is probably about as small as it gets, onto ground thats so stoney that a pick is needed - plus my local place has 10mm so i guess its 10mm then...

How many should i run parallel? Im assuming you dont just put in a single length, but them at different depths?

To me I still believe you are overthinking it, if it is only taking the weight of a sectional garage 3 or 4 lengths of just about anything will tie it together.

My founds which as mentioned I just used some various lengths of scrap are supporting a block workshop and it's been up for about 10 years now with no issues and they certainly were not 15" deep, if my memory is correct they were 8" deep and 10" wide.
