All these lovely neat rows of spanners really put mine to shame. Mine are a mixture of makes, models and types that I've picked up over the years, mainly from car boot sales and the like. I did recently buy a set of long metric spanners for working on the modern car where I can't get a socket on because of space considerations, they sit in their own roll but the rest are in a drawer roughly in order of size with the smallest on the right. Of course, in imperial, I have some where I can't get them in order because of the size combinations. I haven't got enough room to lay them out nicely. I know that means I should buy another tool cabinet, but I've really get enough space taken up now. Those that don't fit are in a separate toolbox off to one side, but these are mainly duplicates or ones I could butcher if I needed to.
Halfords Pro spanners and socket sets are all good. I recently bought a Lidl set of 2 small wrenches (£10) then a loose bag of about 15 random sockets on ebay (£5) so I don't have to get the Halfords case out when it's just easy small nuts and bolts to deal with.
I have a snap on set 6mm to 32. But I like my old Matt chromed Brittool ones the best. They are chunkier so more comfortable in the hand. But I only have 8-19mm in those and I lost the 13mm many moons ago but I can’t find a replacement of the same style.
For new ones that are good and not silly money I second the Halfords pro ones. I have a “go box” with those and I am allways impressed with them.
