I still need to replace the pin for my mag drill and have found an image of pretty much the same thing,
ID on the sort of pin it is? (The one in the shaft, its a 10mm hole in mine)
just use a spring pin. Just a hollow pin with a slit in it to allow it to contract when pressed in giving it the ability to stay put unless drifted out.
we use them for everything in work and ive replaced all the loose fittings pins on my guns with them
Ah even more confused now haha.
To me the pin looks like its just to limit the spindle travel between the groove and keep the outer sleeve aligned with the inner shaft? Or am I missing something completely here
I have just ordered a 10mm roll pin.
It does actualy actually work fine without but thats probably the reason it got jammed in the first place ..
The pin will stop the inner and outer spinning relative to each other.
Without it they could jam up again.
You could even cut a bit of 10mm bar or a bolt..bung it in the hole and put a jubilee clip around it......as long as the inner shaft will slide up and down.
Got it, thanks for all the help,
It looks like I just have to have it going flush to the start of inside wall, so it doesn't affect the spring in there.
