what shade control?

hi guys im after buying one of those cheep solar auto darkening helmets od fleebay. im only a hobbiest i use a sip 100 welder just wondering what setting the shade control number whould need to be on. it as 9-13 or is it a own preference .dont want to leave it on 9 if it would burn my eyeballs thanks for advice in advance guys

hello and welcome. there is normaly a chart with them that tells you the type of welding and current. But you adjust to suit yourself

Use whatever is comfortable.

Note that the damaging UV and IR light waves are always blocked.
