The electricians have cut the outer cable insulation too short for my liking on our electric shower. The cable has to come through the wall straight through an area where any water that splashes on top of the shower can drain due to the design of the unit (bit silly but that's how it has to run). Water can drain past it fine and cant reach the terminals but where they have cut the outer insulation on the horizontal wire, I think water could track along and get inside the outer white sheath. I am using Dowsil 785 to seal other bits - can I safely seal the where the outer wire sheath is cut with this - so the sealant will be touching the red and black insulation on the L and N and may come into contact with the copper of the Earth. Its this stuff - https://www.toolstation.com/dowsil-785n-neutral-sealant/p34025 and says Neutral Cure SIlicone, so I think that means it is not an acetooxy cure and should be ok?? If not, what would be safe to use.
Hope that makes sense. I would have taken a photo but my stupid iphone battery lasts about ten minutes between charges (ok that's an exaggeration...)
Thanks in advance.
