What Regulator do I need?

I've got a Clarke Turbo 150TE Mig Welder which I'm hoping to use a larger bottle of gas on,

Can any post examples of regulators for the larger gas bottles and any adapters I will need.

From the sticky above I've found a place in Stoke-on-Trent which will supply pub gas for £13 / bottle with a £20 deposit.

This sounds good to me, I'll check it's not a nitrogen mix when I phone up but could do with some advice on regulators.

This link shows a purpose made adaptor and regulator to use the larger bottles.
The end of the hose has a 4mm push on fitting that attaches to the small gas pipe on the welder.

It's well worth changing from the disposable bottles as they are a bit of a nightmare...the regulator has to be fully open and the bottles last about 10 minutes.

The threads on the larger regulators are different for co2 and argon/co2 so you need to get the right one for the gas you will be using.

Having recently bought a new regulator, I will add my 2p worth here.

The regulator mechanism for CO2/Argon and pure CO2 is the same but the gas bottle joining fitting is totally different. My advice, if you are unsure what type of gas you intend to use/stick to is to buy a regulator with the CO2 gas bottle fitting. You can buy a conversion to fit to an CO2/Argon bottle for about a fiver whereas the CO2 conversion for a CO2/Argon regulator is nearer £30 !!

My other advice is to buy a regulator with the correct fitting geometry and appropriate connection to connect to your welder. For most this means a side mounted regulator to fit directly onto a gas bottle and a 6mm diameter ferrule on the output side to fit into your welder's rubber pipe.

I ended up having to buy a top mounted reg which means my guages are vulnerable and also having to get a special fitting made to connect to my welder on the output side. In my defence, was halfway through a job when my 25+ year old reg gave up on me, so had to act very quickly.
