what pressure for welding 1.2mm mild steel

hi all

what pressure (bar/psi) should i have for a good shield using a sealey 195 mig welding 1.2mm auto repair mild steel ? using argon/co2 mix

Hi,

so you can hear it when you hold the torch near your ear.

If you have a flow meter then about ten litres per minute will be a good starting point. Turn it up a bit if the wind's blowing a bit.

Are you sure you gauge reads pressure?

Most are calibrated for LPM or SCFM

Should be 10LPM or 20SCFM.

If the gauge reads Bar or PSI then its not the gauge you need. This is just telling you how full the bottle is. You need another reg' or a two stage regulator with a second clock that reads in Lpm (Ltres per minute) or SCFM (Standard Cubic Feet per Minute). Either that or one of those Flow meter type gauges with a little ball floating in a tube.
