What paint for a 4x4 bumper?

Hello to all, hope ye are well

I am building this bumper, and I'm wondering what to paint it with, with that might be durable?

I do hit things, and normal spray paint literally just falls off when you impact something



I have a can of Hammerite stone-chip that I was thinking of using. Would love to hear suggestions.
I don't want to use raptor liner, because I think the texture would be wrong for this car.

Either turn the pressure up or use a roller for the raptor

failing that tractor enamel or chassis black is a really hard wearing paint

If thats bare shiney metal i would get a coat of etch primer on first, it sticks to fresh metal way better

I dont think chrome plating would ever chip off

Powder coating seems like an option too.


I don't know if I can get it smooth enough with a flap disc , to chrome It. I think it might show up any imperfections, I wonder is it forgiving at all

Black undersea, paint it on then do a stipple effect, Dries well, looks like factory finish and lasts really well.

chrome platers can smooth it out with a buffing wheel

Or you could do that with a DA

personally I think it would look awful but beauty is in the eye of the beer holder

Get it galvanised then plastic coated

Chrome plating can flake off and I think you would have a shock at the price for a bumper that size.
