So the more I read the more I realise how little I know.
Please bear with me as I've written this out I've realised its a little long winded.
I'm tidying up my FTO track car that's not seen any road in about 8 years, treating some rust, rot and a bit of welding. This is important to call out as I'm bringing it back to be a track car not a pristine road car so there is an element of good enough is good enough.
I've never welded before so I wasn't planning to start any of the welding repairs just yet. I was going to try stop any further corrosion by removing any rust, old flakey underseal and treating it.
I tackled the rear arches, below the boot and around the fuel tank by sanding it all down applied rust converter and then I put Waxol underseal on it and well.... that's when I realised I've skipped a few steps.
So I'm going to sand it back to metal again and I am looking for your help on what order and if there are any steps I'm missing. For example I know seam sealer should be in there somewhere but I don't know in what order.
So for areas such as wheel arches, sills and under body panels this is what I have and the order I'm thinking.
and I'll give it a light coat of weld through primer while until I can do the repair and then once done follow on from step 2.
Thanks in advance.

- Sand back to shiny metal.
- Pitted/ corroded metal gets treated by FE-123 Rust converter
- Apply EM121 Epoxy mastic rust proof paint
- Apply PU seam sealer
and I'll give it a light coat of weld through primer while until I can do the repair and then once done follow on from step 2.
